I swear I bring Tambellini luck!

I stated in one of previous blogs that I believe I brought Jeff Tambellini luck on that night October 22 when he met me.  He scored his first goal as a Canuck and was the first star of the night too.
Well, on December 26th, I had the pleasure of being back in Rogers Arena and witnessing Jeff and the Canucks go up against the Edmonton Oilers. In case you didn't know, Jeff's Dad, Steven Tambellini,is the GM of the Oiler's.
That day, I FINALLY was able to purchase a Tambellini shirt at the Canuck store.  The day had finally arrived that there was  Canuck merchandise with Tambellin’s name on it! I was SO excited! I put it on facebook, put it on Twitter and even took a picture of it when I got back to the hotel!

That night at the game, I managed to get some descent pics and low and behold, guess who got a goal?? Guess who got an assist?????

and MORE importantly, guess who got first star??

So the two home games I have attending when Tambellini has played, he has scored goals and was the first star of the game.. Coincidence.. maybe but it’s happened twice…
I welcome the opportunity to prove anyone wrong… Invite me to a home game and we can see what happens! Lol

Have an awesome day and remember, we are ALL Canucks!

The fight to be the next BCAA Booster Gal

Everyone is familiar will BCAA right?? Well, this year they had a contest to see who was the BIGGEST Canucks fan. All you had to do was film a video for 60 secs saying why you were the biggest Canucks fans. Based on viewer votes, whomever won, was to get tickets to all the Canuck home games and be crowned BCAA Booster Guy/Gal for the 2010/2011 season.
After meeting Jeff Tambellini, again the date October 22nd, I started getting some little ideas and ran them by Joe. Joe is going to the Vancouver Filming Institure and has been in filming, editing, production for years. He even had his own show on Shaw in Nanaimo for years. He has also acted in a lot of different films for festivals and has an active roll on the new web series Axicom Cipher: Retrograde. (I’ve made a few little appearances in thatplg  as well.) so now that I have given Joe a plug in my blog, oh and he is @thejoecooper on Twitter by the way, I can continue with my little story. :)
So Joe came up with this great concept for the video, and even was able to include my picture of Jeff and I! Click on the video clip below and let me know what you think.

So the contest ran, I put it everywhere I could on facebook, starting following other Canucks fans on Twitter and really promoting myself.  I contacted Karen at the Fox again and told her about it and the pictures of Jeff. Karen even put them up on the Foxes website.. Here’s the link:
After the finalists were named, I didn’t make the list, but I did get an honorable mention. I still loved the opportunity to even be a part of it.  oh, and congrats to Jag to being this year's BCAA Booster Guy! :)

The Day I Met Jeff Tambellini

The date: October 22nd, 2010
The place: Outside Rogers Arena in Vancouver
My friend Joe (@thejoecooper on Twitter) & I had decided to go downtown for the day since we had tickets to go to the game that night.  The Vancouver Canucks were playing against Minnesota Wild.
We got off the skytrain and decided to go to the team store to have a look at all the 40th anniversary items .
After leaving the store, we noticed a few people outside the parking garage of Rogers Arena with Canuck jejrseys etc.  We asked them who they were waiting for and they all said the Canucks morning practice had ended.
Joe suggested we should stand there and talked me into it when he said “You might see Tambellini” so of course we stayed.
As we stood there, we saw Kesler leave and some of the equipment coaches. As I was watching some of the Minnosota players hop on their bus, Joe grabs my arm and says” Darcie, it’s Tambellini” I turned.. and there he was… sigh… I swear to god I was just so dumbfounded that Joe had to TELL me to go over to get him to sign my jersey and take a picture. We talked for all of 30 secs and it was over….the grin on my face lasted… wait… I still smile when I think of that day! Lol
What did I say to him? Well, I commented that I was Darcie, the girl who had sent a message to Karen at 99.3 The Fox asking for heads up next time he comes into the office… he laughed… said he remembered her saying something about me… smiled… like the pic below..

That night, again, October 22nd, 2010, Jeff Tambellini scored his first goal as a Vancouver Canuck and I was witness! OMG! I was SOO excited for him! He was also the first star that night too.. I still make jokes that I must have brought him luck! And my next blog proves it just a little more……

Have an awesome day readers! :)

Another successful Canuck Tweet-up gives me that extra push

so.. this is post #2... it took me 18 days to do post #2 on my new blog... I have to admit, I was "warned" from other bloggers and some friends that once you start a blog, you need to make sure you keep it up to date with what you wanted to talk about... so now that I realized that they were all right, I had a boost last night that helped me realize that.

I am talking about the Canucks Tweet-up that was at Boston Pizza on Grandview last  night.  A Canuck Tweet-up takes place at a real location and all the Twitter users show up and watch the game, put a face to the Twitter name, and prizes are usually given away. With this one being an "official" Canucks Tweet-up put on by the Social Media Team at the Vancouver Canucks, it was a blast!

This was not my first Canuck Tweet-up. My first one I went to last minute when I was in Vancouver in November. I meet some of the Canuck bloggers and fans that I had been following on Twitter. @mozy19 (Richard) @canuckshockey (J.J) and some of the great ladies like @causticchick (Lindsay), suitoflights (Jocelyn) and @canucksgirl44 (Katie).

I have done a lot of "tweeting" since meeting Jeff Tambellini back in October and I have become more obsessed with the Canucks this season because of him. I know more about the game, know the players, and watch the game until the end, EVEN if they are getting their butts kicked, which thankfully this season, hasn't happened to much!

With this recent Tweet-up last night, I made the trip to Vancouver just for this.. I had nothing else on my agenda BUT to go to the Tweet-Up. Yes, I paid money to BCFerries and Translink for the Canucks... and to see some great people and it was worth the trip.  I met Nicole from @VanCanucks who told me she was telling people at the office that I make the trip over just for the Tweet-up. @Chris_Palliser from The Beat 94.5 was the host and he did a great job!

Chris Palliser from The Beat 94.5

I am hoping to have more opportunities to go to events like this in Vancouver. I will be at the Canucks Private Practice on February 6th and the Skills Competition on on February 27th. More pictures will be coming soon from the 4 games I have managed to go so far this season.

My next goal?? I want to interview Jeff Tambellini.  So... have questions for Tamby?? Send them to me and I will put them on my list!

Canucks Trivia Question:  In the 1989 draft, the Canucks selected 12 players. Which player was the ONLY one who played a game with the Canucks that year?

Have a awesome day readers and remember.... We are ALL Canucks.

Welcome to my blog!

A few weeks ago,  I posted on Twitter @Tambellini_Girl that my blog was going to start on January 1st.  I already had some messages that people were looking forward to reading it, which I think is awesome by the way.

The purpose of this blog is having a female point of view when it comes to hockey, and that not all of obsessions with hockey is JUST because of the players on the ice.  There is an awesome columnist for Canucks Hockey Blog Kaite Maximick @canucksgirl44 on Twitter and when reading her articles and having a quick little chat in November when I attended a Canuck Tweet-up in November, I thought to myself "I can do that!"

So, here is my intro! I am a huge hockey fan, and have been an even bigger fan of a certain player by the name of Jeff Tambellini... #10 on the Canucks... but my obsession started a long time ago... I just feel I can let it out now that he plays for the Canucks! lol

I will be posting again later tonight. The topic of course will be Jeff and the Canucks!

Happy New Year to all of you! Go Canucks Go!
